Annual Meeting notes, May 2, 2023. Pres. Bill Tranah
opened meeting at 7:05 p.m.
Introduction of Attendees: Marlys Wisch, Bill & Helen Tranah, Cindy & Paul Hayden, Jon & Kay Anderson, Lana Ashford, Bill & Karen Hermanson, Neil & Barb Normandin, LeeAnn Olson, Dave & Kathy Falk, Margaret Larson, David & JoAnn Rossetter, David & Margaret Glass, Mark Kreutter. Secretary’s report: M/S/C to approve minutes of 5-17-2022 as written. Treasurer’s report: M/S/C to approve as presented.  2024 Larsmont Community Club Annual Meeting Larsmont Community Club Annual Meeting notes, May 7, 2024. Pres. Bill Tranah opened meeting at 7:00 p.m. Attendees: Marlys Wisch, Bill & Karen Hermanson, Bill Tranah, Margaret Glass, Margaret Larson, Cindy & Paul Hayden, Kathy & Jim Croyle, JoAnn & David Rossetter, Lana Buss, Jim Goodman, Iris Goodman. Secretary’s report – M/S/C to approve as written Treasurer’s report – Accepted as presented New Business: • Lawn care – M/S/C to approve hiring Christy Rounds to mow our lawn. DAC is no longer going to provide this service. • Projects – discussion of – ceiling in storeroom; chimney repair; toilet roof moss removal; toilet wall needs sanding, mold removed, and repainted. Garden around the bell tower needs bricks realigned and plants pruned. Brush needs to be cut in the ditch area. Duluth Tuckpointing for chimney work. Local construction/painter for repair of toilet wall. Jim Goodman may be able to help with toilet wall. • Projects Day – brush cutting, fix flower garden and pruning. Dates June 10th and backup June 24th. 9AM. Bring own tools. Lunch will be provided, beverages. • Annual Picnic/Fun Day – Aug. 3rd, 11AM-2PM. Will include silent auction. Lunch will be catered through The Larsmont Trading Post and desserts through new “Mocha Moose” now called Dream Cloud Coffee Roasters. Will ask for donations of desserts. *Annual Community Rummage Sale – only three people/households were involved in 2023, decision made to not do this year in 2024. • Report of events/activities for 2024 – Lana read the report. Plans are for guest speakers, games nights, possible Yoga class, Arts/Crafts Day for whole family. All events will be open to the public. Snacks and beverages will be provided. Speaker fees. Dates established: • June 20, 2024 Games Night, 1st Day of Summer theme. 6:30 p.m. • July 24, 2024 FinnFest folks stopping at schoolhouse, we will host. 10 a.m.’ish. • Aug. 3, 2024 Annual Picnic/Fun Day 11 a.m.-2 p.m, with silent auction, lunch. • Aug. 9, 2024 Games Night National Book Lover’s Day, theme will be about books, reading, Little Free Library. 6:30 p.m. • Aug. 14, 2024 – Todd Lindahl, historian, history of Larsmont, local area. 6:30 p.m. • Sept. 20, 2024 Speaker, Gabe Sweet, Geologist, will speak about minerals, helium, age of rocks of our area. Bring your own rock! 7 p.m. • Sept. date TBD Speaker about astrology, have on evening of full moon, telescope provided. 7 p.m. Other suggestions: • Exercise Day – Yoga, local class instructor, bring your own mat. Also talk of Health and Wellness. • Arts/Crafts Day/Evening For whole family, theme to be determined. • Sauna & Cold Plunge • Return of Shoreview Natives, Dan Shutte. • Tom Sjoblom, author, book: Herring Choker.
