2018 Larsmont Community Club Annual Meeting
New Business:
M/S/C to approve having D.A.C. mow our lawn.
By-laws changes: discussion of who can rent the
schoolhouse as bylaws are now written. No one suggested
changes, but discussed raising the rent and the fee
charged for those who are non-residents, who use the
schoolhouse. M/S/C to approve charging $60.00 per
event for those using the schoolhouse who are
non-residents, effective January 2019.
Future business: Discussion on who, and how, is going to
be in charge of the schoolhouse and what funds are still
in our account. Should we establish some legal process
to handle building and funds? Asked everyone to think
about this and share thoughts, no further discussion at
this time. Suggestion: ask Jeremy Hurd, Attorney and our
Representative as County Commissioner.
Building Inspection Report: Bill shared Alex Comb’s
inspection report, what he felt was needed to bring
building to good standards, and maintenance of building.
Chimney needs work, the southwest corner of the building
sags, create a process so water does not flow under the
schoolhouse when it rains or snow melts, possible
support needed for front porch, floor joists are
slanting, the light fixture on the north eave is “live”
and not protected from weather or humans, trim needs
painting. Discussion – we have two bids so far to do
chimney work. M/S/C to give the Executive Board
permission to spend up to $3,000 to get the chimney work
done.
Lake County Rec. Board: Marlys, Delegate to the Board,
shared that the group will no longer have meetings, the
monies available from that decision was spread evenly
across all groups at $200 per. So we will now be
receiving $6,900.00 this year (2018) and going forward
unless the County Commissioners change it. Suggestion:
to keep our budget for schoolhouse projects in a
separate “column.”
Mentioned the $1,000 donation from the Vi Hedvall
Family, Vi was a student at this school.
Projects Day: will be June 2, 2018, with backup date
July 28th. Start at 9 a.m. Projects include:
painting the gray platform levels of the porches;
painting the white trim; painting the south wall red;
Jim Ortman takes care of the gables on the garage. Yard
cleanup, garden trimming/pruning, brush cleanup.
Third Annual Fun/Picnic Day will be August 4, 2018, 11
a.m.-2 p.m., with lunch (for sale) and silent auction.
Yard games. Marcia Nieman volunteered to cook sloppy joe
mixture. We will have sloppy joes, chunked fruit, chips.
Coffee, pop and water. Desserts donated and for sale.

current slate of officers:

submitted,
