Annual Meeting – 2017
Minutes of the Larsmont Community Club/VFD Annual
Meeting, May 15, 2017.
Attendance: David & Margaret Glass, Margaret Larson,
Marcia Nieman & Bill Mohar, Marlys Wisch, Bill &
Helen Tranah, Cindy & Paul Hayden, Dale Isackson,
Karen & Bill Hermanson, David & Kathy Falk.
The Larsmont Community Club held its annual meeting on
May 165 2017, at the Little Red Schoolhouse. President
Bill Tranah opened meeting at 7 p.m.
Secretary’s report read and approved, Treasurer’s report
shared with all.
2017 Larsmont Community Club Annual Meeting
New Business:
M/S/C to continue to have D.A.C. mow our grass.
Old World Windows: All work is now completed.
Pres. Tranah reported on his completion of storm windows
for
the large windows on the west wall.
Janice and Lance Peterson donated a 1950s era
refrigerator,
it is in the garage.
Pres. Tranah reported on the ramp he built for handicap
accessibility to our toilet.
Report about the Lake County Rec. Board – Marlys, our
delegate, reported that for 2018 the Rec. Board will
hold no meetings, per letter received, our annual amount
of $6700 will continue, Marlys to insure. This will be
discussed at the next Rec. Board meeting on May 25th.
Marlys Wisch and Margaret Glass, have accepted the role
of delegate and alternate respectively to this Board,
term will be from Jan. 1, 2018 to Dec. 31, 2020. These
positions may or may not be needed for future, but want
to be prepared.
Projects Day – the date/s are #1 – July 29th and backup
date – Aug. 6th. We will paint front steps, some trim,
maybe one wall (west). Pres. Tranah will look into
materials to use for the steps on the south side of
building, they will not hold paint. May use the
composite materials. We will also do gardening work,
clean up in general.
We will be doing the roofing on the schoolhouse and
garage. The cost will be $10,000 total for both.
Officers voted in an email to accept the bid from Tranah
Construction.
Annual Picnic/Fun Day – August 12th. 11 a.m.-2 p.m. We
will have lunch, a silent auction, baked goods for sale.
For entertainment – yard games, music and fellowship.
The committee: Marlys, Judy, Renee and Ms. Swanson,
Cindy and Paul. We will need volunteers before the event
and during the event.
Other business: Paul von Goertz is going to write an
historical piece on the Hill brothers, covering the
history of their boat making, and about the
Crusader
II, now moored in Knife River. Marlys will ask
Paul to do a brief piece for our
Larsmont Line
newsletter.
Election of Officers:
M/S/C unanimous ballot for current officers to continue
in their positions: President – Bill Tranah;
Vice-President – Margaret Glass; Secretary/Treasurer –
Marlys Wisch; Grounds Keeper – David Falk; Flag Tender –
Dale Isackson; Editor-in-Chief – Paul Hayden.
